Planning approved for retail parade at Hamilton International Park

Hamilton International Park, one of Scotland’s most sought-after business locations has  been  granted planning permission to build a six unit retail parade. 

The parade comprises of 14,143 sq.ft with space for approximately six retail outlets which will provide a wide range of leisure and retail facilities to both the business park occupiers and the local community. The construction contract, valued at £4 million, has been awarded to Ogilvie Construction. Site work is due to commence within the next month and is due for completion in January of next year. 

Joint venture partners HF Developments and AWG Property Ltd recently announced a £104m expansion plan for the Park with a creation of over 2,500 jobs and an additional 319,000 sq.ft of office accommodation which will be built over the next three or four years. 

Hamilton International Park is home to a wide variety of local, regional and International businesses, which currently employ over 3,500 people.

William Hill, managing director of HF Developments, said: “The retail parade is the first step in the expansion plans which we recently announced for the Park.  Following on from our successful retail parade at Strathclyde Business Park, we felt that it was important to develop the facilities at Hamilton International Park to support the increasing workforce here.”

Stephen Kelly, director of AWG Property, added: “We have had initial interest from several retail outlets and we are in the process of discussing finer details with them.  We believe that this will be another draw for businesses looking to relocate.

Hamilton International Park is a joint venture between AWG Property Limited and HF Developments to develop over 400,000 sq ft (37,161 sq m) of specified Grade an offices. Phase I provides over 260,000 sq ft (24,154 sq m) to meet the requirement of modern businesses in Aspect House, International House, Campsie House, Kintail House, Prospect House and Kilpatrick House.

The park is centrally located in the heart of Scotland, approximately 13 miles south east of Glasgow City Centre. It is served by the A725 East Kilbride Expressway, which provides quick and easy access to the M8 (Glasgow & Edinburgh) and M74 (Carlisle & the South) motorway networks.
