Employees benefit from free travel to Hamilton International Park

Employees at Hamilton International Park (HIP) can now benefit from free bus travel to and from their work.

Businesses located in the Park have been given free bus passes to give to all employees to allow them to travel on the X5 and 207 Irvine’s buses from Hamilton and East Kilbride to the Park. Bus stops were installed in the Park especially for the Irvine’s bus service.

William Hill, managing director of HF Developments, said: “We are committed to the workforce of the surrounding local areas and want to ensure that they can get to and from work using public transport free of charge instead of always having to rely on a car or to get the train to the station at Blantyre.

“We pride ourselves at HIP on doing our bit for the environment and trying to cut down on pollution from excess cars and traffic in the surrounding area.”

Stephen Kelly, director of AWG Property, added: “This is a feature that not many business parks have and due to the good relationship that we have with Irvine’s, we hope that as the demand for bus passes increases, we will add to the services when necessary.”

Notes to editors:

Hamilton International Park is a joint venture between HF Developments and AWG Property to develop over 400,000 sq ft (37,161 sq m) of specified Grade A office space. The Park is home to household names such as HSBC First Direct, T Mobile, First Engineering, Scottish Power and S&UN.

Phase I provided over 240,000 sq ft (22,296 sq m) to meet the requirements of modern businesses in six stand alone office buildings. The second phase of development will see a further investment of £104 million into the Park, providing a further 319,000 sq ft (29, 635 sq m) of office accommodation and retail facilities. It is estimated that by 2008 the Park will employ over 7,000 people.

Centrally located in the heart of Scotland, Hamilton International Park is approximately 13 miles south east of Glasgow City Centre. It is served by the A725 East Kilbride Expressway, which provides quick and easy access to the M8 (Glasgow & Edinburgh) and M74 (Carlisle & the South) motorway networks. DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, Lambert Smith Hampton and Ryden are the retained letting agents for the available office accommodation at Hamilton International Park.
