Phase one of traffic diversions begin at Strathclyde Business Park
The first phase of traffic diversions at Strathclyde Business Park (SBP) has begun this week.
Phase one of the £4.6million project will see a one-way system introduced to Strathclyde Business Park to ensure that all traffic travels safely around the Park.
Traffic coming from the north on the A725 towards SBP has been diverted past the current exit onto Belziehill roundabout, and therefore back onto the northbound A725 to access the Park using the new slip road. Traffic travelling northbound on the A725 now accesses the Park using the new slip road. The West Roundabout on the Diamond Interchange has been closed, which means that there is no access from this junction to either Righead Industrial Estate or Bellshill North Industrial Estate.
Joint venture partners HF Developments and AWG Property Ltd have appointed leading construction management company Farrans Construction Ltd, who have already carried out the initial part of the 40 week infrastructure upgrade, in completing the new slip road on the northbound A725.
William Hill, managing director of HF Developments, explained: “January 8th is a landmark date that many of us at the Park never thought we’d see take place because of the arduous five years it has taken us to get to this stage. We aim to have the work concluded by August.”
Three phases of traffic diversions are planned to support the work, maps showing the road on completion, along with details of the traffic diversions, can all be found by logging on to www.strathclydebusinesspark.com. There is also an email update facility that people can sign up for, to receive regular progress reports and details of traffic diversions.
