NG Bailey to locate BREEAM Excellent Regional Headquarters at Strathclyde Business Park
NG Bailey, one of the UK’s leading providers of building services, interiors and maintenance solutions, has confirmed that it has selected Strathclyde Business Park as the location for its new £5.5m regional headquarters in Scotland.
Having outgrown its current offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, the building services firm has chosen to relocate to a new facility which will be purpose built, to cater for its ever increasing workforce.
The extensive and detailed design progress, carried out by the Strathclyde Business Park design team in conjunction with NG Bailey, has produced a bespoke building design which heralds the next generation of buildings at the Park.
Situated in Calder Campus to the north of the Business Park, the 20,000 sq ft, two storey building will include features such as ground source heat pumps, natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting, waste management, solar collection cells on the roof, and integral blinds which provide shade and prevent heat penetration.
Colin Walker, Regional Director Scotland at NG Bailey, said: “As a company, NG Bailey is extremely environmentally conscious and we wanted to ensure that our new office reflected this commitment to sustainability.
“Our previous experience of working on the “Excellent” BREAAM awarded SNH headquarters has inspired us to recreate our own green headquarters at Strathclyde Business Park. The building has been designed with the goal of achieving our own ‘excellent BREEAM’ rating, and we are confident that this will be achieved.”
William Hill, managing director of HF Developments, said: “We are delighted that NG Bailey has chosen to locate at Strathclyde Business Park. We have relished the design challenges that the project has posed and are excited to be leading the market in the next generation of building design.”
The Business Park design team have taken many of the energy efficient, sustainable building design concepts from the NG Bailey build and are incorporating these into the next generation of buildings across the site.
William Hill explained: “HFD’s philosophy at Strathclyde Business Park has always been to set the standard in terms of building quality, staff amenities and working environment. The knowledge gained from this project will now be taken forward into other developments, demonstrating our commitment to quality of building design. This, coupled with our flexibility as Landlord and continual improvements in services for our 6,000 strong workforce will ensure we remain Scotland’s leading business location.”
Situated just 30 minutes from Edinburgh and 20 minutes from Glasgow, Strathclyde Business Park provides an enviable location for companies wanting to locate in the heart of the central belt.
The provision of on site services and amenities such as the private nursery, Retail Parade, several restaurants and eateries, a gym and the Hilton Hotel have proved to be very successful in attracting companies to the Park.
Recent investment at the Park has included the £6.2 million upgrading of the existing road infrastructure surrounding the park, the implementation of Project Atlas, a new pilot project to upgrade the technology infrastructure for Scottish businesses by providing access to advanced broadband telecoms services, and the construction of the prestigious Duart House, offering 74,000 sq ft of the highest quality office accommodation and comprehensive conferencing facilities for up to 150 delegates.
Colin Walker at NG Bailey continued: “I believe that Strathclyde Business Park will be the ideal base for our employees. There is great potential for growth and the surrounding location provides us with a well-established workforce and attractive environment, which is always an excellent relocation factor.”
