Strathclyde Business Park Aims to Break Last Year’s Target
For the Hospice
Strathclyde Business Park will continue its close work with St
Andrew’s Hospice by organising its annual black-tie fundraising dinner in support of the Lanarkshire charity.
HF Developments, owner of Strathclyde Business Park, will host
the event at the Park’s Avondale Bar & Grill on Friday, October 26, 7.30.
Guests at the evening event will enjoy a delicious four-course meal,
a silent auction and raffle with fantastic prizes, and speeches from high-profile after dinner speakers -Brian Donald, the
well-known BBC TV and radio presenter, and Russell Wardrop, renowned for his inspirational speeches.
William Hill – managing director of HF Developments – said: “Last
year’s event was an overwhelming success and due to the generosity of local businesses and park tenants we managed
to raise over £19,000 for the Hospice.
“This year we hope to break the previous target and raise
even more money so I would appeal to local businesses to continue this generosity and help raise money for St
Andrew’s Hospice by donating prizes for the event.”
St Andrew’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for the people
of Lanarkshire through 20 beds for end of life care, 12 beds for frail, elderly sick patients, a Day Hospice with facilities
for an additional 80 patients, a Care at Home Team, and a range of Support Services for families of patients.
Through these facilities the Hospice provides care to 120
Lanarkshire patients each week, the large majority of whom are suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
To maintain these specialist services the Hospice Fundraising Team has to raise over £1.8 million each year.
Sam Lavery, Hospice Fundraising Director at St Andrew’s Hospice,
said: “Strathclyde Business Park has played an important role in raising the profile of the Hospice over the last
few years and we are delighted that they continue to support us through the annual black tie dinner. The Hospice plays a
very important role in helping patients throughout Lanarkshire and the proceeds will go a long way to ensuring this high
level of care continues.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed last year’s event and this one
is shaping up to be even better.”
