On Your Marks... As 1 Forrest Gate is Launched The
completion of the re-development at 1 Forrest Gate was formally marked last Friday
(29th of August), not in the traditional manner of a plaque or sign, but with
doughnut rings and tyre tracks as Glasgow's office agents battled it out to win
a shot in HFD's Grab a Grand machine. In a test of speed and skill, remote
controlled cars were raced round the building's central atrium, with scant regard
to the track marked out. Notable failures to finish included HFD's own Stephen
Lewis, and Ryden's Ken McInnes, who launched his car, Thelma and Louise style,
into the atrium void. There's always one! Michael Facenna of Knight Frank
emerged as the fastest participant, recording an impressive time of 11 seconds,
earning himself the opportunity to "Grab a Grand". In the end he managed
to grab a total of £730, with the rest of the money being donated to one
of HFD's chosen charities, the Yorkhill Children's Foundation. Stephen Lewis,
HFD's Development Director, commented "We are delighted to be able to present
the latest addition to the HFD portfolio to the market, 1 Forrest Gate. The building
provides high quality, low cost accommodation with very generous car parking ratios
of 1 space per 137 sq ft. "We are confident that these attributes will
prove popular with potential occupiers." 1 Forrest Gate is already
home to Bright Horizons Day Care Nursery, and Kwik Financial Services. 36,761
sq ft (3,416 sq m) is currently available across the ground and first floors.
DTZ, Colliers CRE and Cushman and Wakefield are joint letting agents for 1 Forrest
Gate.
