Breaking Ground On a £33m Investment in Hamilton
International Park The first spade hit the ground today (Mar 17) on the
site of the final building in Hamilton International Park's phase two expansion
plans. Tom McCabe, MSP for Hamilton South, attended the 'sod cutting' ceremony
to officially launch construction work on the 80,000 sq ft Ochil House. Sited
in an elevated position, Ochil House will be the largest building at the Park
at 80, 416 sq ft when it is completed in Summer 2009 and will enjoy exceptional
views over Central Scotland. The four-storey building will benefit from underground
parking and provide grade A flexible office space to suit a variety of needs. The
last building in Hamilton International Park's (HIP) phase two expansion plans
has already been snapped up by an investor syndicate. A Chancery partnership investor
syndicate has purchased Ochil House for a total of £33million, demonstrating
the ongoing attraction of HIP as both a business destination and investment location. William
Hill, managing director of HF Developments, said: "It's great to see construction
work get underway on this, the last and biggest building in our phase two expansion
plans, and we're delighted that Tom could be here to officially cut the first
piece of turf. "The expansion plans have progressed quickly and many
of the new developments have been acquired by investors, demonstrating the success
of the Park both as a key investment and working location. "We will
continue to invest and expand, ensuring that Hamilton International Park remains
the destination of choice for local, regional and international businesses looking
to locate in the heart of central Scotland." Recent investment at the
Park has included the development of a new £5.25m Retail Parade, the addition
of the new-build 24,000 sq ft Fenick House and 39,000 sq ft Fintry House, and
the provision of free bus travel for park tenants. Tom McCabe, MSP for Hamilton
South, added: "This is a significant development for the area and I am pleased
to be here to officially mark the commencement of the construction work. In addition
to the creation of several thousand jobs, the expansion of the business park has
helped boost the local economy and I'm sure there will be no shortage of interest
in the latest offering from Hamilton International Park." DTZ, Lambert
Smith Hampton and Cushman & Wakefield are retained letting agents for the
available office accommodation at Hamilton International Park.
